TETRAGON’s contribution · 2023–2025

Between 2023 and 2025, TETRAGON actively participated in experimental work to consolidate the program’s results. It made two hectares of its own agricultural land available for the temporary establishment of a Ginkgo biloba plantation for industrial cultivation trials.

02

What the trials were designed to test

The land supported testing of a super-intensive cultivation method and refinement of the technology for industrial production of botanical raw material intended for pharmaceutical use. This experimental stage focused on cultivation practice and the development of a repeatable production approach.

03

A separate experimental stage

The two-hectare TETRAGON trial area is distinct from the 0.3-hectare pilot plantation established in 2021. It also differs from the planned four-hectare industrial phase in Italy. These areas describe separate stages of the program and should not be added together as a current operating plantation total.

04

Future application in Piedmont

The technology refined through these trials is intended for future use in Piedmont, Italy. Its industrial application remains a future development stage. The program’s published roadmap envisages establishment in 2029 and a first industrial-scale leaf harvest in 2033.
